doc page explaining context of apps that require a domain to be set & default to that instead of example.com #2056

Description

Infrastructure:

Inithooks

  • set example.turnkeylinux.org as the default domain - in /etc/default/inithooks?

Appliances

  • update each appliance to ensure that it is using the new default domain (load from /etc/default/inithooks?)

This issue was prompted by a recent post on the forums from Andy.

A number of our apps require a domain to be set on first boot. It would be good to have a website doc page that explains the context and need to set a domain. It should also explain potential workarounds - see my response on the forum thread for ideas.

We could create a new turnkeylinux.org subdomain that redirects to that doc page and use that as the default domain instead of www.example.com - so users like Andy don't think that their appliance is broken and have to ask.

I have tagged this as a bug as I think it is worth implementing for v19.x.
