I've been accidentally working overtime. Boss did not ask for that and doesn't want me doing that. We've been using Time Tracker at work.
I need some way to be notified when I've reached my limit for a pay period. I was looking at the Projects and Goals menus. I tried creating a project called Reduce Hours and assigned it to myself. Then I went to Goals and tried making a goal for 40 hours weekly. But here's the problem, we're not paid weekly. We are paid bi-monthly. The first pay period of the month is 1st to the 15th. The second pay period is 16th to the end of the month. Each paycheck is meant to be for 80 hours or less of work. That doesn't quite align with two weeks or single weeks. The only Goal interval options I saw are weekly and monthly. I am suggesting interval options for a bi-monthly pay period.
I am unable to create a goal starting on a date earlier than today. It would help to be able to set an earlier starting date, and include the hours starting from that day, rather than waiting until just the right day to start it. Or, maybe that doesn't work if I created the project today? I am unsure.
Can you add notification options for when the goal is reached? I have the Talk app installed for Android. I don't think there is an Android app for Time Tracker but maybe I could get a message through Talk that could serve as a notification? Or maybe Next Cloud apps don't interact with each other. I am unsure.
TLDR: I'd like to create a project called Reduce Hours, create a goal for that project with a bi-monthly interval, set the goal to 75 hours so that I can budget my time going up to 80 hours if needed, and get some kind of notification on my phone after I've reached the 75 hours goal.
Alternatively, might there be some way to set up a cron job for a script that can check the hours I've worked that are logged in Time Tracker and somehow notify me after I've reached the limit?
