Talking with folks on the telechat, what happened is Pete deferred the document, rendering a link Amy had on her page stale, and then it 500'ed when she clicked it.
When she refreshed, things worked ok.
We should look at this page and make it do something less surprising than 500-ing when a condition like this occurs.
Fixing this isn't urgent, but we shouldn't forget it. Ryan - if this analysis sounds plausible enough, I'll enter it as a ticket and we can get to it when it's convenient.
