Etherpad.tools.ietf.org:9000 doesn't work over IPv6

I'm getting the following:

divertimento% telnet etherpad.tools.ietf.org 9000

I'm using the NAT64 network, so there is no native IPv6 path, and since this site publishes a AAAA record, DNS64 doesn't provide a NATted version of the IPv4 address.

Yes, etherpad does all it's own network handling (it's not running under Apache) so may not be able to do IPv6 yet. I've added a DNS record for etherpad.tools.ietf.org with only an A record (no AAAA).
