No more notifications when a new version is released

Lately I noticed that I don't get noticed anymore when a new build is released.

This issue has been present since several versions ago but I can't remember from which version it started.

Do you know when the last known working version was where you got the notification?

When I check on an instance running 1.2.2 and running the app:version command it sends the notification that 1.2.3 is available.
Also keep in mind that the check is only run on Thursday. For example 1.2.3 was released last Friday. it should show up on the next run as available.

Also just to double check, you don't have anything running that auto updates the container?

I can not remember what version when it was working okay sorry.

The app:version command is that via the Portainer terminal, as I receive bash: app:version: command not found

There is nothing running that would auto-updates the container.

So as you mention it wil be noticable on the following Thursday, I'll wait four days and report back with an update.

From the container you'll want to run the command in the application's directory:

• cd /app/www
• php artisan about

At the bottom of the output you'll see a "Speedtest Tracker" section with an "Out of date = yes or no" and your currently installed version.

Out of date is Yes

In the same directory run php artisan app:version this will trigger notifications to all users who have admin as a role.

I run that command and indeed I receive a notification afterwards.

Does this mean it wil give me notifications from now on ?

Again I encounter the same problem as before.

Under the notification bell icon I dont see if there is a new version of Speetest-tracker available.

I'm on v1.4.2 and v1.5.0 is released.

The version check has been removed as of v1.2.4. There will be no more notifications for new versions inside the app it self.

Most people rely on other tools to receive update notifications. As part of our code simplification efforts, this feature was not included.
