**OpenCore Version:REL-104-2025-03-04
macOS Version: macOS Sequoia Versión 15.7.7 (24G720)
Hardware: iMac Intel 12,2 2011
GPU: [AMD Radeon HD 6970M]
Description:
After updating to macOS Sequoia via OpenCore, the native screenshot functionality is completely broken. No method of taking screenshots works.
What I've tried (all failed):
- Keyboard shortcuts (Cmd+Shift+3, Cmd+Shift+4, Cmd+Shift+5)
- Terminal command:
screencapture ~/Desktop/captura.png
- Preview app: File → Take Screenshot
- Adding Terminal and Screenshot.app to Privacy & Security → Screen Recording (list was empty, added manually)
- Restarting the system after each change
Related issue — Text selection rendering in Microsoft Word:
Since the same update, text selection highlight in Microsoft Word appears as a very faint gray, making it nearly impossible to see what is selected. Other apps like TextEdit render the selection color correctly, which suggests this may be a GPU driver / compositing issue specific to certain apps.
System highlight color has been changed and verified in System Settings → Appearance. The issue persists regardless of the selected color.
Steps to reproduce:
- Install macOS Sequoia on iMac Intel via OpenCore
- Try any screenshot method listed above
- Open Microsoft Word, select text — selection is barely visible (gray)
- Open TextEdit, select text — selection renders correctly
Expected behavior: Screenshots should be captured normally. Text selection should render with the system highlight color across all apps.
Actual behavior: No screenshot method works at all. Word shows faint gray selection instead of the system highlight color.
This appears to be related to GPU acceleration or the WindowServer compositing layer under OpenCore + Sequoia. Any guidance on relevant kexts or framebuffer patches would be appreciated.
